The Truth

The Truth

I have heard people promote “speaking their own truth.”  Since when did we define what the truth is?  If my truth is different from your truth, does it make it ok? What about THE truth?  There is no white-washing the actual truth.  It is what it is, no matter what anyone’s “opinion” is.  On a daily basis, we are getting other people’s “truths” shoved in our faces and if we do not agree with their “truth” then we are shamed, and sometimes cancelled and destroyed by any method needed.

Where do we go for the absolute truth as Christians? There is only one place; the bible.  To me it is a living, breathing document. It’s a roadmap that can absolutely be applied in today’s world even though it was (divinely) written over 2,000 years ago.  Some people may dismiss the bible as a “book of metaphors.”  The bible has both historical events and metaphors to teach us the meaning behind the message.

I will never forget sitting in my Catholic grade school being told by my teacher that the story of Adam and Eve was just a metaphorical story and that it didn’t really happen.  I internally rejected what she said! There was another time in my early teens where my friend’s brother said there was no such thing as God and that the earth was created by some big boom.  Something inside of me, knew that it couldn’t’ be so.  There are too many things I have seen, felt and witnessed and know intuitively that God is real and He is real inside of me.   I guess these are my “truths.”

There have been many that have studied the metaphors written in the bible, breaking down multiple doctrines and placing each event in a timeline that is understandable.  From the dropping of the Berlin wall to the Six trumpet war.  Every prophesy in the bible has come to pass.  How can you deny that?  This is why it is important to try to gain an understanding in what it says.

How do you measure whether something is true or not?  I can only compare what I see, hear and witness around me, to what was written in this book.  Please don’t tell me that no matter what we believe, we are all going to Heaven.  There is only One way to heaven and not all religions believe that. Not all religions believe that Jesus is/was the Messiah.

Jesus told him, “I am the way and the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me.”

John 14:6 NLV

Compare some of these truths that we are exposed to in our society more and more these days:

*It’s my body, I have the choice to abort my baby.

*It’s ok to assemble with bricks and fire and weapons to burn, loot destroy other people’s property and livelihoods. To curse and to spit in the faces of those in authority.

* How about the “Summer of Love” that we saw in Portland where people were getting mugged beaten and raped and criminals were being set free?

Proverbs 6:16-19 NLT says: These six things the Lord hates, a proud look, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that are swift in running to evil, a false witness who speaks lies, and one who sows discord among brethren.

There is no way you can convince me that at some level, unless someone is completely filled with hate and evil, that people do not know instinctually between right and wrong.  They just have to choose which one they will follow. Free will.

Isaiah 5:20 NLT says: What sorrow for those who say that evil is good and good is evil, that dark is light and light is dark, that bitter is sweet and sweet is bitter.

This is exactly what we are seeing.  Since when do you set bail for criminals so that they can run free while the innocent are harmed and destroyed?  Since when have we ever had such blatant disregard for God’s laws?

Surely, we must be in the last days metaphorically?  But is it metaphorically or for real?  We do not know the answer to that but look to the story of Noah and his family before the flood was sent to destroy the land and all of the people who were sinning against God?   Look at the story of Sodom and Gomorrah and what kinds of acts were happening right out in the open before God destroyed them.  Really read in detail these stories and compare them to what is happening right now in the days we are living in.  This is where we are at in society and there is the agenda and narratives being pushed that say we must all be accepting of one another.  Yes, we must love one another, we must never be unkind to someone who has a different truth than us, but we must be very careful not to make it our truth if it does not line up with our own doctrines.  Don’t be fooled.  The agenda is to remove God from our country.  This nation was founded under God and it is why we have been such a great country to live in.  Why else would people risk life and limb to come here???

I am not saying that anyone is better than anyone else, but we can be in the world and not be of the world.  If you know the truth, you can not be fooled with untruths.  Remember, the enemy is a deceiver.  In the end days, the book of Revelations says that there will be a false profit who will perform miracles and that many will be deceived.  They will think he is Christ!  This is why we must read it and no matter how confusing it is, I believe the Lord will give you an understanding.  Remember, the truth will set you free.  Don’t be kept in the bondage of false truths no matter what anyone says.
